Meadow Will Look Just Perfect on the Boat - Jun. 22, 2011
In a meeting last night.
Beautiful almost summer evening and I'm stuck in a boardroom.
Now, I know it's not an ethical thing to do, but checking e-mails and texts every once in awhile helped the process a little bit.
One of the texts came from a co-worker.
Something wrong at the site? Problem awaiting me tomorrow?
Well, not really.
Seems little Meadow needed a life jacket. And her owner, Christine, needed a little helpful information from me as the owner of Animal Essentials.
The text asked "are you ordering any more life jackets?"
For dogs, of course.
Well, life jackets are always an interesting dilemma at Animal Essentials. It's a relatively short season for the sale of such ware so you don't want to order 48 of them or they're still there in February.
Actually, we take them off the floor in September, but you get my drift.
We usually order the life jackets from a company we deal with about twice a year. They have a gazillion different items in all shapes and colours including life jackets.
Well, Christine does indeed dote on Meadow so it had to be the perfect life jacket. Never mind the fact Meadow probably doesn't give a rat's pottooey as long as it keeps her afloat on the St. John River or Nashwaak, right?
Still, we understand the small dogs need the right item.
So, Jess and Tom went to work and found just the right one for Meadow.
About half an hour later, the text came through..."you have the most helpful staff ever. We found the perfect life jacket."
Which brought a smile to my face, despite trying to be serious at the meeting I was attending.
It's great to hear of a satisfied customer andit's great to hear kudos handed out to our staff.
We have a good staff and that's another indication.
And Meadow will be one of the sharpest pups on the river this summer, safe and secure in her new life jacket.
