When it Rains, of Course It Pours - Oct. 06, 2011
Tom didn't know whether to cry or wind his watch last night.
These things happen.
When orders arrive at Animal Essentials. it's never a case of one on Monday, one Wednesday and one Friday.
It always seems to arrive at once.
And, of course, we don't have a lot of room to spare out back and it has to go somewhere.
The big Daddy of them all is expected to arrive Saturday when Blue Seal's feed truck arrives to drop off thousands of pounds of feed so we can re-stock our shelves.
But we have to clear out the other orders, check them off and either get the items on the shelf or stored in a neat manner out back.
Which is why Tom was working up against it last night, bobbing and weaving between stock and helping customers on a busy Wednesday night.
All to make room for Blue Seal.
It does happen every five weeks and Saturday will be the final day we can unload in decent weather.
From here on in until April, it's a battle against the elements which leads to crisp fingers and red cheeks.
Part of the game, but thanks to our loyal and dedicated staff, things get done.
