A Glimpse of the Past is Always Good for the Soul - Nov. 24, 2011

  Flashbacks?

 No, not really.

 Memories would be a better word.

 Every once in awhile, I'll be doing something down at Animal Essentials and get a chuckle when I see something that stirs the memory pot.

 Most wouldn't have a clue what it means, but there have been some things at the store that seem so long ago, that almost six years doesn't seem quite long enough.

 Take the pawprints, for example.

 When we first opened all those years ago, our two food racks were at the back part of the store where the aquariums and critter section now sit.

 We had Blue Seal where the aquariums are. Nutro on the right.

 That was it. Two foods.

 And we somehow made a business of it.

 During a trade show that first year, I collected some pawprint stickers from a supplier.

 Wasn't sure what I was going to do with them, but the idea hit me to put them on the floor leading to the food racks.

 Kind of a trail indicating follow the pawprints.

 Make sense?

 Probably not.

 Long story short, those pawprints are faded - really faded - but they remain.

 Pawprints to an aquarium really doesn't make much sense, but if you look closely you'll see them.

 A path to the past, I guess.

 Makes me chuckle everytime I see them.
