We Say Goodbye to Greeting Cards - Jan. 17, 2012

 Cards have been an odyssey for us at Animal Essentials.

 Greeting cards, that is.

 Years ago we were at a tradeshow in Toronto and an individual had his greeting card display for customers.

 We were interested because there had been a few customers ask if we carried any...which we didn't at the time.

 Long story short, we waited for a customer to be taken care of at that tradeshow and we were prepared to do business.

 At that exact same time, a rather buxom (does anyone use that word anymore?) woman stopped by and the guy dropped us like a Lionel Ritchie CD in favour of her.

 Off we went, never to return, but did find a competitor who was more than happy to help us out.

 Well, as the years passed an e-cards become more popular, the rack that once housed our cards has been tossed and the cards were pretty much all sold for next to nothing over the holidays.

 We're out of the card business.

 But some of our staff will rent themselves us as singing telegrams for your pets.

 That'll make them howl.
