The Selling of Puppies from Trucks Just Continues - Apr. 27, 2012
Wendy Hallihan has long been a supporter of Animal Essentials.
And a support of the Fredericton SPCA and many other projects affecting animals.
She penned a solid letter to the editor today in The Daily Gleaner in her strike against puppy mills.
Time and time again, I have railed against puppy mills and backyard dealings when it comes to dogs.
Time and time again, it doesn't seem to matter, does it?
Just last weekend, some cartoon was selling puppies out of the back of his truck near our parking lot.
And folks slap down $100 on a whim, buy the dog and have no idea what to do with the poor soul.
Off goes the backyard breeder counting his money and wondering how many more puppies the poor mom dog can accomodate.
It won't end. It really won't. As long as there are male and female dogs and tools with the bright light to put two and two together, there will be puppy mills and shady operations that run out of the back of trucks.
We can't see all, but we hope with more sets of eyes, you will.
Don't hesitate to take down a plate number or call the authorities.
It just makes us ill when we hear of these tales.
Because the tail owners don't have a chance for the most part.
